Citizen's TV Suspended Journalists Resume Work



Earlier this month Citizen TV news anchors Swaleh Mdoe and Mwanahamisi Hamadi, together with other journalists and producers were suspended by the RMS over bribery claims.They have since resumed work Sources at the television station owned by Royal Media Services confirmed that all the suspended crew reported to work on Thursday.

Besides the two Swahili anchors, others who were suspended were editors Shisia Wasilwa, Kimeli arap Kimeli, Yusuf Ali and video editors identified as Mumbi and Lillian.
It is not clear if the celebrated anchors will be allowed back on screen.

Under the terms of their suspension, they were to stay away from work for 10 days pending investigations into the incident.
In their absence, weekend anchors Kanze Dena and Lulu Hassan took charge of the station’s Swahili news desk.
