Raila demands compensation for 215 people killed by police during NASA protests.

- NASA leader Raila Odinga led several opposition legislators in collecting several bodies of people killed during running battles with the police -The politicians as well as the families of the dead all gathered at the City mortuary on Thursday,December 7
 - Raila demanded that the government apologise and compensate the families for their loss - Among the victims was 7-year-old Geoffrey Mutinda - Raila said at least 215 victims who are majorly NASA supporters were killed by the police The National Super Alliance leader Raila Odinga led several opposition legislators in mourning victims of police shooting at the Nairobi City Mortuary. The leaders gathered in the vicinity of the mortuary to condole with the families on Thursday, December 7. Some of the leaders present included Siaya Senator James Orengo, Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris, Mbita MP Millie Odhiambo, Homa Bay County MP Gladys Wanga, Dagoretti South MP Simba Arati and his Rarieda counterpart Otieno Amollo. The deceased included 7-year-old Geoffrey Mutinda, Mary Atieno Oduor, Evans Owino Otieno and Kennedy Owino. Raila while addressing the mourners demanded for compensation for the victims and an apology from the government. "To the victims' families here with us, on behalf of all the leaders who have arrived here, we say sorry for your loss. All of us stand here with incomparable concern. They are all children, especially Geoffrey Mutinda. We want you (the families) to know that we stand with you. Anyone taking lives like this is an animal. No one from the government has condoled with the bereaved.The government must compensate the families of these victims. They must apologise to the families for the manner in which they died in the hands of police," said Raila

 The NASA leaders also off set the mortuary fees, bought coffins and catered for transport fee. Mutinda was shot and killed while playing on the balcony of his family home in Pipeline estate by peopel said to be police officer. The government has however denied claims that police were involved in the killing and instead blamed the boy's death on criminals.
