Jubilee front man President Uhuru
Kenyatta has accused opposition of plotting for a coalition government in
August - According to Uhuru, NASA are far from prepared for the polls - He also
assured that the August polls will go on as scheduled President Uhuru Kenyatta
has called out opposition yet again for what he termed as a ploy to delay the
August polls. Uhuru, who has been on a campaign trail in the coastal region,
was speaking in Ukunda, Mombasa County, where he assured that the elections
would still be held on August 8. He further alleged that Raila and his NASA
brigade were preparing for a coalition government – something he reiterated
would not happen.
“Nyinyi munataka serikali ya Nusu
Mkate? (Do you want a coalition government?)” He posed to residents. His
sentiments have come at the back of a similar assurance by the IEBC that
elections would take place as scheduled.
On Tuesday, July 18, ballot papers
for five elective posts excluding the Presidential position arrived in the
country. Despite this fact, Jubilee, through the President insisted their
opponents were ill-prepared. “NASA are not ready for elections, and I said that
since last year. They are saying there will be no election in August because of
no electronic transmission of results,” He added. On the same day, Raila held a
rally in Kibra, Nairobi , where he accused the Uhuru's acting Interior CS Fred
Matiangi of working closely with the electoral agency IEBC to compromise the
polls to Jubilee's favor
