FINAL POLL GIVES UHURU AN UNASSAILABLE LEAD OF
54% AGAINST RAILA’S 43%
The
latest opinion poll by the Centre for Africa Progress has given Jubilee
presidential candidate Uhuru Kenyatta an unassailable lead of 54 per cent
against his rival Nasa’s Raila Odinga (43 per cent) in a poll released today
ahead of the general elections slated for next week Tuesday.
The poll shows that 3 per cent of the respondents were undecided casting doubts whether there will be a runoff since the other six aspirants combined had less than 1 per cent.
The survey further says that 40 per cent of Kenyans believe Kenyatta will keep election promises against Raila’s 35 per cent 18 per cent don’t trust any of the two fulfilling their promises.
The poll was done on the 28th July to 1st Aug. Survey involved 10,000 respondents across the country.

In another interesting result, 72 per cent of the respondents said they will not vote for independent candidates while 25 per cent said they will cast their vote on the independent candidates while 3 per cent were undecided.
The survey was pegged on 85 per cent voter turnout.
President Kenyatta’s support in the voter rich Rift Valley has increased from 63 per cent to 66 per cent while Raila maintained his solid support in Nyanza and Western region.
61 per cent of the Kenyans feel the electoral body IEBC has the goodwill to conduct free and fair elections while 35 per cent they cannot deliver a free and fair election.
