NAIROBI GOVERNOR ELECT, MIKE SONKO SEE WHAT HE DID ON HIS
FIRST DAY IN OFFICE AS GOVERNOR! KIDERO WILL COMMIT SUICIDE
Last week, Nairobi Governor elect, Mike Sonko, won the
Nairobi gubernatorial race by trouncing incumbent Governor, Dr Evans Kidero,
who is the patented ‘king of corruption’ in Nairobi.
Sonko, who has been nicknamed as ‘super governor’ garnered 832,566 votes against Kidero’s 654, 333 votes.Speaking for the first time after he clinched the Governor’s seat, Sonko rejected the Sh25 million set aside for his inauguration as Nairobi Governor saying it should be used to offset the one-month arrears owed to County employees. The amount was allocated by the Assumption of Office Committee following his victory against Kidero on August 8th.
Sonko also ordered County Chief Finance Officer, Luke Gatimu, to pay City Hall workers within the next 48 hours. “We had a fruitful meeting with Kenya County Government Workers Union (KCGWU) and agreed workers must be paid before I assume office,” Sonko said.
Sonko also vowed to eliminate corruption at City Hall saying he will deal with all cartels that were working under Kidero.
